Jove Francisco joins One News
Francisco will working as an executive producer for the English news channel.
Jove Francisco is returning to TV after a more than a year-long hiatus, joining TV5 and Cignal TV’s soon-to-be launched English news channel, One News.
Francisco, an original talent of the Manny Pangilinan-owned TV5, will be working as an executive producer for the English news channel. Specifically, according to our sources, he will handle some of its talk-oriented programs.
Additionally, Francisco, who has covered both the House and the Senate, as well as Malacañang, will also be a special correspondent during major news and political events.
Prior to signing a deal with One News, Francisco, as what we reported in March, had spoken with top bosses of CNN Philippines about a possible on-air role at the network.
Francisco’s move to One News is a homecoming of sorts for the seasoned journalist, who prior to joining ANC in 2015, worked at TV5 for almost two decades. (Back then it was known as ABC5.) There, he anchored newscasts such as Aksyon Tonite, TEN: The Evening News, Aksyon JournalisMo, Pilipinas News, and Balitang 60.
At the ABS-CBN News Channel, he executive produced the long-running The World Tonight and the now-defunct opinion program #NoFilter, while also participating in special news coverages — one being the 2016 national elections.
