Luchi Cruz-Valdes returns to TV5’s ‘Aksyon’
The Kapatid news chief was welcomed back with a new promotional video highlighting some of her most memorable work at the network.
Luchi Cruz-Valdes on Monday returned to her anchoring duties at TV5’s Aksyon, about a year after taking a sabbatical leave.
During last night’s broadcast, the head of the TV5’s news and current affairs division was welcomed back with a new promotional video highlighting some of her most memorable work at the Kapatid Network, including her one-on-one interview with President Rodrigo Duterte in December 2016, and the 2nd PiliPinas debate, where she served as moderator.
On Twitter, the network’s entertainment correspondent, MJ Marfori, also posted a series of photos with a caption that read: “So happy that this power woman, our News5 chief Luchi Cruz-Valdes is now back on @News5AKSYON! I look up to her and admire her for her strength and wisdom.”
TV5 has changed a lot since her absence. In October of last year, the network signed up a partnership agreement with US-based cable sports channel ESPN for the rebranding of Sports5 to ESPN5. Also, News5 is now under the One News umbrella, the new all-English news channel of Cignal TV.
As Media Newser Philippines reported in May, Cruz-Valdes is also part of the nightly talk program The Chiefs. She is expected to make an appearance on its future broadcasts.
