Another Kapuso departure: Julius Segovia exits GMA News

Longtime GMA-7 reporter Julius Segovia has also resigned from his post, we have learned.

In a post on his Facebook account on Friday, Segovia announced his departure, writing: “This has been my home for more than a decade; so wherever life takes me, I will always look back to where I started. Thanks for the memories, learnings and experiences. I will surely treasure all those as I venture out in the corporate world. This is not goodbye, but simply see you around. ‘Til our paths cross again, thank you all Ka-❤! Muli ako si Julius Segovia ng GMA News, nakatutok 24oras, ang inyong Saksi, nagpapaalam na po sa himpapawid. Hanggang sa muli!”

This is the second-high profile departure at the Kapuso Network in just a single week, following the exit of senior correspondent Sherrie Ann Torres.

Segovia joined GMA News in 2005 as a segment producer for Q11’s now-defunct program Sana’y Muling Makapiling. He eventually became an on-air talent a year later, reporting for both GMA-7 and its then-sister station Q11, now known as GMA NewsTV.

Aside from his reporting during the onslaught of super typhoon Yolanda, Segovia also covered some big events like the Papal visit, the 66th Sapporo Festival in Japan, and the 21st ASEAN Summit in Cambodia, among many others.

Before joining GMA-7, Segovia served as news anchor, reporter and writer for IBC-13.
