Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna talks matchup with Isko Moreno on ‘Sa Totoo Lang’
Lacuna said that she felt betrayed after her conversation with Moreno in early August, during which he confirmed his plans to run.

On this evening’s Sa Totoo Lang on One PH, anchors Jove Francisco, Chiqui Vergel, and Maricel Halili had Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna for a phone patch interview to discuss her bid for reelection in next year’s midterm elections.
Lacuna, who will be filing her certificate of candidacy on Thursday, is expected to face her predecessor, former Manila Mayor Isko Moreno, who has indicated plans to seek reelection, as well as businessman Sam Verzosa.
Regarding a potential matchup with Moreno, Lacuna said that she felt betrayed after their conversation in early August, during which he confirmed his plans to run.
At [on] several occasions po na magkakasama kami, ay lagi po niyang sinasabi ‘yun, assuring everyone na he is already retired in the field of politics at hindi ho kami magkakalaban kahit kailan,” she said.
When asked about the possibility of teaming up instead of running against each other, Lacuna zeroed in on that idea, saying that it was clear to her and Vice Mayor Yul Servo from the get-go that Moreno was about to retire.
Looking ahead, if reelected next year, Lacuna said she would prioritize the city’s social amelioration program.
In fact, ang ating pong ginagawa ngayon ay hinahanda po ang ating lungsod for a ‘Magnificent Manila’ by the year 2030. Kaya lahat po ng ating programa at proyekto ay doon po nakatuon – paano po mababalik sa mapa ang Lungsod ng Maynila,” she said.
