Starting Monday, February 10, viewers of Cignal TV’s One News can look forward to a new morning grid designed to provide timely and relevant news coverage.

Leading the morning schedule at 8AM is Morning Matters with Gretchen Ho, a new daily news and interview program hosted by Gretchen Ho. This marks her return to morning television, having previously co-hosted Gud Morning Kapatid and Frontline sa Umaga on One News’ sister station TV5.

A young morning news veteran, Ho is no stranger to the genre as she previously co-hosted ABS-CBN News’ Umagang Kay Ganda and Mornings@ANC.

With this move, Ho will step down from her role on The Big Story. She will be succeeded by the evening newscast’s frequent substitute anchor Pauline Verzosa.

At 9:30AM, business news takes center stage with Money Talks with Cathy Yang, a new 30-minute program featuring financial insights, market updates, and economic analysis. Yang, a big name in financial journalism, returns to the format that established her reputation at ANC, where she anchored Market Edge for five years before joining telco giant PLDT as First Vice President and Head of Corporate Communications in 2020.

“Very data-driven kami, so ito ‘yung added value na maibibigay at ibibigay natin sa madla. Because facts, based on data, cannot be questioned, says Yang, who also hosts One News’ weekly interview series Thought Leaders. “Numbers are facts, so nanduon kami. Bahala na magdesisyon ang manonood sa aming ipiprisinta.”

Rounding out the channel’s revamped morning block at 10AM is News and Views with Angelo and Angela Castro, replacing the duo’s previous program, Brunch, which started airing last year. The new program is said to be more of a traditional newscast, with in-depth reporting and expert analysis of the day’s top stories.

“We are thrilled to introduce these three dynamic new shows to our viewers,” said One News Head Jove Francisco. “Cathy, Gretchen, Angelo, and Angela are all highly respected journalists with a proven track record of delivering the best news coverage. We are confident that these programs will become essential viewing for anyone who wants to stay informed.”

This new morning lineup is part of One News’ efforts to strengthen its programming and broaden its audience. With Ho returning to morning television and Yang bringing her expertise back to business news, the channel aims to offer a more dynamic and informative viewing experience.
