International broadcast journalist Jamela Alindogan has officially announced her move to the Bilyonaryo News Channel.

In a Facebook post on Friday, the former Al Jazeera English correspondent revealed that she is joining BNC in a dual role after a 14-year stint at the international news network.

“After a two-year break from the news, I’m excited to announce my return. Fourteen years with an international network was an incredible journey, but now I’m stepping into a new role as Foreign Affairs Editor and Public Affairs Anchor for Bilyonaryo News,” Alindogan shared.

She added, “What makes this even more special is the opportunity to reunite with former ABS-CBN colleagues and friends — Korina, Pinky, Ces, Marie, and more — while reporting for a Filipino audience. Joining a startup with boundless opportunities to create, collaborate, and shape new stories for the public was an opportunity I simply couldn’t pass up.”

Alindogan’s move to BNC was announced last week, just as the news channel prepared for its Cignal TV debut. Her hiring is seen as a major gain for BNC, which has also attracted some of the biggest names in local news.

Alindogan, now 41, was one of Southeast Asia’s leading conflict reporters, a reputation she built during her time at Al Jazeera English. Some of the major events she covered include the elections in Indonesia and Malaysia, the violent protests in Vietnam and Cambodia, and the sieges in Zamboanga and Marawi.

Prior to her international career, Alindogan worked as a police beat reporter and news anchor for ABS-CBN News.
