Meet the Bloomberg TV Philippines Team
Leading the pack is longtime TV5 host Shawn Yao, who will be anchoring the network’s top of the hour news bulletin.
As we’ve been reporting these past few months, there’s a new team in town aiming to become the new alternative source of news in local television.
Bloomberg TV Philippines, the latest media venture of the MVP Group, has officially unveiled its roster of news talents in a trade launch held Wednesday night.
Leading the pack is longtime TV5 host Shawn Yao, who will be anchoring Top 5, the network’s top of the hour news bulletin which will be airing four times a day and will tackle national news headlines, economic and business news, as well as entertainment and pop culture.
Yao will also be co-hosting the localized version of In The Loop alongside entrepreneur Quintin Pastrana, who will also be hosting the weekly talk program Smart Moves.
Corporate lawyer Jean De Castro, finance analyst JP Ong, and international business reporter Regina Lay, will headline First Up, the business news channel’s morning news program which will air from 7 to 8AM.
Former Solar News-9TV anchor Rod Nepomuceno, meanwhile, will be hosting a 30-minute weekly public affairs program called The Insight.
Other talents joining the Bloomberg TV Philippines family are law professor Tony Abad, who will be moderating his own weekly political discussion program called Political Capital; and social entrepreneur Michael Alimurung as host of the BigTime-inspired program Bright Ideas.
Bloomberg TV Philippines is slated to air in mid-September exclusively on Cignal TV.
