Al Jazeera producer Owen Franks joins Bloomberg TV Philippines

Bloomberg Media Group has officially announced the addition of international news producer Owen Franks to its ranks.

Franks will serve as executive producer for the soon-to-be launched Bloomberg TV Philippines and will be responsible for the editorial direction, as well as all aspects of the channel’s news programming and operations.

Before joining Bloomberg in June, Franks served as an executive producer for Al Jazeera across its bureaus in Qatar, New York and San Francisco — where he launched its 24-hour American news service and digital youth channel in 2014.

He also had a stint on BBC: British Broadcasting Corporation as a senior producer in London.

As Media Newser Philippines first reported in March, Bloomberg Television in partnership with Cignal TV, will launch Bloomberg Television Philippines, the country’s first 24-hour business news channel.
