Gerg Cahiles officially joins Bilyonaryo News Channel

Weeks after filling in for Pinky Webb and Korina Sanchez-Roxas on Agenda, former CNN Philippines reporter Gerg Cahiles has officially joined the growing Bilyonaryo News Channel.

Cahiles, who used to report on transportation, technology, and infrastructure for the now-defunct local CNN station, has been named co-anchor of Weekend Agenda, joining Maricar Bautista on the weekend broadcast.

Sources reveal that Robert Tan, who was introduced as Weekend Agenda’s co-anchor last week, was only a temporary substitute anchor while Cahiles’ deal with the network was being finalized.

“Nagbabalik na po tayo sa paghahatid ng balita sa telebisyon,” he said in an Instagram post Saturday. “I’m anchoring the weekend edition of Bilyonaryo News Channel’s flagship newscast ‘Agenda’ together with Maricar Bautista.”

Cahiles first joined the local news biz in 2011 as a reporter for Solar News, and remained with the station through its transformation into 9TV in 2014, and then its rebranding to CNN Philippines in 2015.

After CNN Philippines ceased operations in January of this year, Cahiles served as editor-at-large for FYT Media, a community-oriented independent media outfit.
