Lourd De Veyra named new co-anchor of ‘Frontline Tonight’

Just like Lingao, Lourd De Veyra will also make his debut on Frontline Tonight on August 10, instead of August 3, as we earlier reported.

Lourd De Veyra is taking on another evening assignment as the new co-anchor of TV5’s late-night newscast Frontline Tonight.

Beginning Monday, August 3, De Veyra will join Maeanne Los Baños on the program, replacing Ed Lingao, who, as we previously reported, is moving to the morning slot to lead the returning Frontline sa Umaga.

The new assignment gives De Veyra, a longtime TV5 talent, an expanded presence across the Kapatid News platforms. In addition to Frontline Tonight, he will continue hosting Political Beat on TV5’s sister station One News.

Launched in May, Political Beat focuses on the day’s biggest developments in Philippine politics. It airs from 7 to 8PM. De Veyra will then return later in the evening for Frontline Tonight at 10:15PM.

Los Baños earlier teased the arrival of her new co-anchor in a Facebook post last week, although she kept his identity under wraps.

“May bago kaming makakasama sa #FrontlineTonight! 😃📺 Sure kaming kilalang-kilala nyo pero secret pa kung sino! Sooo abangan sa Aug 3 sa #TV5, 1015PM! 🤭” she wrote.

De Veyra’s entry marks the first major change to the main anchor lineup of Frontline Tonight, which has been led by Lingao and Los Baños since its launch in September 2021.
