GMA News unveils new graphics packages, abandons ‘integrated’ look
The Kapuso news division drops its unified on-air look introduced during the GMA Integrated News era.
GMA News has rolled out new graphics packages for its newscasts on Monday, dropping the “integrated” on-air look introduced during the GMA Integrated News era.
The changes, which cover Unang Balita, 24 Oras and GTV’s Balitanghali include new bumpers, lower-thirds, and other graphic elements. An updated theme music was introduced for 24 Oras as well.
Gone in this revamp is the white-dominant design with red and blue accents that had been shared across GMA News newscasts since the last division-wide reformat in December 2023.
One of the most notable changes is the return of Balitanghali’s classic orange-themed graphics package. 24 Oras has likewise revived its signature clock-inspired design, with similar updates expected for 24 Oras Weekend, Saksi, and GTV’s State of the Nation.
The redesign comes three months after the news division reverted its branding to GMA News from GMA Integrated News, signaling yet another step away from the direction of former news chief Oliver Victor Amoroso.
This is also one of the more visible changes under longtime Kapuso Michelle Seva, who was named Officer-in-Charge late last year. This latest overhaul is said to be Seva’s broader push to bring GMA News back to its roots by tapping into elements more closely associated with its earlier identity.
