Cheryl Cosim and Atty. Mel Sta. Maria to head up TV5’s ‘Aksyon sa Umaga’
Also joining the program are Grace Lee, Renz Ongkiko, Jeff Caparas, France Noguerra, and Mon Gualvez.
TV5 is bringing two of its top broadcasters to morning television.
Beginning Monday, April 18, Aksyon Tonite anchor Cheryl Cosim and TV5’s resident legal analyst Atty. Mel Sta. Maria will team up to headline the new Aksyon sa Umaga, taking over the anchor desk that was previously occupied by the trio of Martin Andanar, Lourd de Veyra, and Jun Sabayton.
TV5 is still working out its structure, but sources are telling us that the show will move away from its current format and will instead be focused on hard news, commentary, and public service.
The only holdover from the previous team, Grace Lee, will remain part of the ensemble as host of ASU’s entertainment features, while Renz Ongkiko will continue to oversee its social media segment.
Rounding out the cast are Jeff Caparas for police reports, France Noguerra for weather, and Mon Gualvez as host of his segment Mobile Singko.
The new Aksyon sa Umaga will debut tomorrow at 5AM.
