One News to launch ‘Newsfeed,’ ‘Political Beat’ starting May 18

One News is set to roll out two new programs beginning May 18, with former Afternoon Delight hosts Denise Tan and Lourd De Veyra taking on new roles in the Cignal news channel.

The on-air duo signed off from Afternoon Delight on Friday ahead of the launch of the network’s newest offerings.

Tan will host Newsfeed, a new 30-minute straight newscast airing from 5:30 to 6PM, covering national and international news stories, as well as sports, lifestyle, and entertainment. De Veyra, meanwhile, will host Political Beat, a political news program airing from 7 to 8PM, focusing on the day’s biggest developments in the world of Philippine politics.

The programming shift comes as One News gears up for the coverage of Vice President Sara Duterte’s impeachment trial, which could begin in the coming weeks if efforts to delay or derail the process do not alter its course.

The addition of these new programs also expand One News’ live programming block, giving the channel a near-continuous lineup beginning with Storycon at 4PM and running through The Big Story at 8PM.

Also included in the lineup is the simulcast of One PH’s Sa Totoo Lang at 6PM, currently the only One PH program carried on One News’ primetime block.
