Market Edge anchor Cathy Yang has won a nod for Best News Anchor or Presenter at the 21st Asian TV Awards — just a year after making her comeback in the Philippine television news industry.

Yang, who is a three-time ATA winner, shared the news on her social media accounts Tuesday, writing, “Truly humbled and honoured. Thank you #ATA2016. See you all in Singapore on December 1st! #MEWCY #MarketEdgeWithCathyYang.”

The international journalist, who in the last 15 years worked for various news outfits such as Bloomberg TV Asia-Pacific, Reuters TV and CCTV News, remains the only Filipino journalist to ever secure a three-in-a-row win at the ATA, winning in the same category in 2001, 2002 and 2003.

The Asian TV Awards honors the best programming and production excellence in the Asian television industry. It was launched in 1996, and is considered to be Asia’s equivalent to the Emmy Awards.

According to its website, an expert panel of over 60 judges from all across the region will determine the winners for the ATA, which include broadcasters from free-to-air television stations and pay-TV platforms, as well as many independent production houses in Asia.

The winners will be announced at a gala event in Singapore on December 1.
